Boosterthon

We are happy to announce that Boosterthon is back for the 2023-2024 school year!

This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and it’s so much fun for our Western Union Eagles.

What is Boosterthon?

Boosterthon is a two-week, PTO-sponsored educational program and fundraiser.  It kicks off on Tuesday, February 27th with a pep rally, and ends on Thursday, March 7th with a Fun Run! Students will run 30 to 35 laps on a specially designed mini track called the “Boosterthon Speedway” to raise funds for our school.  Every student participates in the pep rally and Fun Run, and receives a free shirt!

Since 2001, Boosterthon has taught millions of students across the nation about the importance of fitness, leadership and character while helping schools raise needed funds.

This year’s character theme is World Changer Workshop. Our students will follow three students who are faced with a huge challenge - Can they change the world?  They will be taught the steps to making a difference: Find a Need, Write a Plan, Rally a Team, Launch It Now, and Grit It Out!  If you want to share in your child's experience, watch the story unfold here on our page or at mybooster.com!

Students gather pledges from friends and family who agree to donate a specific amount per lap completed, or a flat-rate for participating.  This gives the children an incentive to work hard and earn the pledges offered on their behalf to support our school.

What is the Fun Run?

Join us on Thursday, March 7th on the soccer fields to cheer on our Eagles as they complete their Boosterthon Fun Run!

Students will run, walk, dance and skip to high-energy music while being cheered on and having fun!

The Fun Run track is about 1/16th of a mile.  Students will have a goal to run 30 laps. The average student will run 30 to 35 laps.  The most any student will be counted for is 35 laps.

Every student receives a free shirt and experiences the Fun Run, regardless of pledges raised, so please come to watch and cheer on the students!

Grade-level specific times for the Fun Run are the following:

Thursday, March 7, 2024

  • 9:00 AM - First & Second Grades

  • 10:30 AM Fourth & Fifth Grades

  • 12:15 PM Kindergarten & Third Grade

How do pledges work?

REGISTER YOUR STUDENT!

First, a parent or guardian needs to register their student at mybooster.com. If you do not have access to a computer, our PTO team can do that for you.

There are two ways someone can make a pledge to a student: (1) a pledge per lap, or (2) a flat donation. These are entered online through your student’s mybooster.com account.

COLLECT PRIZES!

Individual goals: depending on pledges confirmed, students will earn prizes that will be delivered to the classroom each day!

School-wide goals: There will be nightly challenges for the whole school to compete to get the most pledges.

Classroom goals: Teachers will have classroom goals where students as a class can earn special privileges.

COLLECT PLEDGES

Our most popular, preferred option is online credit card payments through the Boosterthon website payment system.

If the internet is inaccessible, checks should be made payable to: WUES PTO. Cash payments are also accepted and will be collected daily at the school.

Each student will receive a Boosterthon pledge manual that will explain this procedure.

Remember, donations are 100% tax-deductible!

What will raised funds be used for?

The PTO has used the money raised to fund a disc golf course, outdoor running track, regulation soccer goals, friendship benches and water bottle filling stations.

We have also used the funds to support our specials programs with STEM items and PE equipment, as well as additional classroom resources.

These funds have also gone to enhance our ever growing outdoor learning area.

Everything the PTO purchases is to enhance our students’ learning experience.

This year, in addition to classroom resources, we are looking to fund sun shade structures and additional fitness equipment for our playground area.

How can I help?

Fundraise: Connect your child to sponsors - friends, family, coworkers, neighbors - anyone who can give a pledge! Remember to check your student's mybooster.com page to see the list of companies that match donations!

Volunteer: Thank you to all the volunteers who decorated hallways and classroom doors for the Boosterthon kickoff! On Thursday, March 7th, come to the Fun Run to mark student laps and cheer them on!
